Die 5 coolsten Veranstaltungen diese Woche in Wien.

1/ Thursday Special: Gratis Konzert (Thur 20-22h - Free)

Im Café Siebenstern gibt es diesen Donnerstagabend ein Konzert des ‘No String quartets’. Die Musikrichtung dabei ist eine Mischung aus klassischer Musik, Jazz, Volks und Weltmusik. Also für jeden was dabei!

Wer keine Lust auf ein Konzert hat, kann sich diesen Donnerstag auch mal wieder das PowerPoint Karaoke im Spektakel anschauen!

2/ Vernissage: Path Reflection 2.0 (Fr 19h - Free)

Ab Freitag steht im Kulturzentrum am Schlingermarkt das Thema Nachhaltigkeit und die Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung (SDGs) im Mittelpunkt. Verschiedene Künstler aus unterschiedlichen Sparten haben sich damit auseinandergesetzt und ihre Überlegungen in ihre Kunst einbezogen.

3/ The beauty of diversity (Fr-Sun -€18)

Am Freitag beginnt die neue Ausstellung ‘The Beauty of Diversity’ in der Albertina. Hier liegt der Fokus auf Kunst von Frauen, queeren Künstler*innen, People of Color und anderen marginalisierten Gruppen.

4/ Midnight Cinema: Blue Velvet (Sat 23-1:30 - €10)

Diesen Samstag gibt es eine Nachtvorstellung des David Lynch Klassikers Blue Velvet im Gartenbaukino. Natürlich kann man im Kinosaal auch gemütlich einen Wein oder Bier trinken und sich ggf. so auf den Rest des Abends einstellen.

5/ Ein Ausflug zum Schloss Laxenburg (Sat, Sun - €3)

Wer das schon etwas wärmere Wetter ausnutzen möchte, kann einen dieses Wochenende gut das Schloss Laxenburg im Süden Wiens besuchen. Die Anreise kann man bei den Temperaturen vielleicht sogar schon mit dem Rad wagen?

The temperatures are slowly rising again and it seems like Vienna is blessed with an overly early spring. Of course there are a lot of cool events happening this weekend so let’s get to it! 🚀

The 5 best events this weekend in Vienna

1/ Thursday Special: Free Concert (Thur 20-22h - Free)

At the café Siebenstern in the 7th district, there will be a concert by group ‘Np strings quartets’. The group will perform a variety of different pieces covering classical music, jazz, folk and world music. I guess a little bit for everyone!

In case you are sick and tired of concerts, you can also check out the PowerPoint Karaoke which will take place at Spektakel.

2/ Vernissage: Path Reflection 2.0 (Fr 19h - Free)

Starting this Friday there will be an exhibition at the Schlingermarkt with the topic sustainability. A variety of different artists from different fields have combined their efforts to explore this topic and make the viewer think.

3/ The beauty of diversity (Fr-Sun -€18)

Another great exhibition that is kicking off this weekend is ‘The beauty of diversity’ at Albertina. Here the focus will be on art by woman, queer artists, people of color and other marginalized groups in society.

4/ Midnight Cinema: Blue Velvet (Sat 23-1:30 - €10)

If you are a cinema fan and miss watching some of the classics on the big screen, this is your chance! This Saturday, there will be a screening of the David Lynch classic ‘Blue Velvet’ at Gartenbaukino.

Of course you can easily combine this with a nice glass of wine or beer(s) to prepare for the rest of the night!

5/ A day trip to Schloss Laxenburg (Sat, Sun - €3)

With the almost spring temperatures this weekend, it might be a fun small trip to visit the Laxenburg castle slightly south of Vienna. The castle is easy to reach and from most parts of Vienna, you can get there within less than an hour by bike, car, or public transport.

The castle itself has a beautiful garden and is a pretty nice sight in general! Of course you can also check out some of the tours in the castle itself.
